e-YDTS is a computer-based Turkish language proficiency test that aims to measure the language skills of individuals taking the exam in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages ​​(CEFR) using a modular skills-based approach, and to provide candidates with a valid and reliable Turkish language proficiency certificate at B2, C1, and C2 levels. Comprising Reading, Listening, Speaking, and Writing sections, e-YDTS aims to provide a tool comparable to international standards in terms of assessment criteria, validity, and reliability for educational institutions, professional organizations, government agencies, and other interested parties.

e-YDTS has content focused on the educational and professional language use areas, which are among the four target language use areas included in the CEFR. The Council of Higher Education has deemed it appropriate to use e-YDTS exam results, along with other exams, for international students studying or who will study in our country to begin their studies at higher education institutions.

In this context, the exam results are as follows:

This certificate can be used to:

Enable international students studying in our country to begin their studies at higher education institutions;

Enable international students graduating from higher education institutions in our country to work in institutions serving in Türkiye or in other countries working in relation to Turkey;

Enable international students graduating from the language, literature, or translation departments of Faculties of Letters to document that they can work as sworn translators between various languages ​​and Turkish;

Enable international students graduating from the Turkish Language Teaching departments of Faculties of Education to document that they have the competence to teach Turkish in their own countries;

Enable various institutions providing scholarships to international students to study in Türkiye to determine the Turkish language proficiency of students in the application process or in the stages after the acceptance process;

Enable foreign faculty members working in higher education institutions in our country to apply for associate professorships.
