A meeting was held by the Council of Higher Education regarding the applications and registrations of foreign students for the new term of the 2024-2025 academic year. The meeting was held on September 16, 2024 at 14:00.

It was emphasized at the meeting that the number of foreign student registrations decreased throughout Turkey this year. Opinions were made on the reasons for this and how the problems could be resolved.

It was also emphasized that a "high school equivalence certificate" should no longer be requested from incoming foreign students. Following the meeting, a Question&Answer session was held on the problems encountered by universities and foreign students.

It was stated that students could have temporary private health insurance for a short time due to the problems experienced in the general health insurance that is mandatory for students.

Nearly 200 university office managers and authorities attended the meeting, which lasted about an hour and a half.
